GHRA

IT Systems Developer
Number of Openings: 1 - Start Date: Immediate

General Summary:
Reports to the IT Administrator

Maintains information technology strategies by developing, researching and implementing technological strategic solutions at all GHRA facilities.

Primary Responsibility:
Develop and maintain new and existing software with a focus on understanding and meeting user needs, security, and coding best practices all while setting and meeting deadlines.

Essential Functions:

  • Software development and maintenance.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours
  • Performs other duties and projects as assigned.

Experience and Skills:

  • Must have a strong dedication to customer service
  • Training ability/experience a plus
  • Analyze situations, evaluate alternatives, and implement solutions within standards (where applicable)
  • Interpret guidelines and analyze factual information to adapt or modify processes in response to changing circumstances
  • Duties may require non-routine analysis, research and follow-through
  • May act as a resource to others to solve problems

Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or 3 to 5 years related experience or equivalent combination
  • Professional certifications as appropriate

  • Experience with standard software applications, including MS Office, Windows. May require database management skills with ability to produce reports. Ability to manipulate, analyze and interpret data.

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires little physical effort.
  • May require occasional lifting or moving lightweight or average weight material, typically less than 25 pounds.
  • Ability to work under stress during peak workload periods.
  • Work environment involves only infrequent exposure to disagreeable elements

Greater Houston Retailers Alliance - Warehouse and Distribution

Replenishment Specialist (Re-Buyer)
Number of Openings: 1 - Start Date: Immediate

General Summary:
Reports to the Inventory Manager

Manages Purchase Order process in order to restock or replenish warehouse inventory as it draws down due to member purchases.

Primary Responsibility:
The Replenishment Specialist position manages assigned categories with major responsibilities in achieving and maintaining a 95% service level, while also achieving budgeted inventory levels within a multi-deadline driven environment.

Essential Functions:

  • Manages a specific vendor book, assigned categories, to deliver a 95% total fill for our members.
  • Manages in full compliance and utilization of our Royal 4 warehouse inventory management system.
  • Maintains and manages profitable inventory to achieve budgeted levels.
  • Ensures no loss to margin with 100% accurate Purchase Orders, maximizing buy-in opportunities.
  • Manages replenishment process to ensure seasonal ordering, holiday sales protection, manages trade show and special promotional activity and sales.
  • Develops strong relationships with vendors and manufacturer’s shipping departments to facilitate the efficient flow of product and scheduling of deliveries.

Experience and Skills:

  • 2-3 years retail/wholesale purchasing experience with manufacturers and distributors.
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills
  • Good communications skills
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Excellent understanding of Microsoft Office

Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • Work is primarily sedentary in nature.
  • Extended period of time working in front of computer monitor

Shipping Supervisor
Number of Openings: 1 - Start Date: Immediate

General Summary:
Reports to the General Manager

Accountable for ensuring all orders are processed, picked, staged, built up on pallets and loaded on the trucks in correct order for delivery. Ensures, work force, works in a timely manager and that all issues are managed and issues resolved quickly.

Primary Responsibility:
Shipping Supervisor is responsible for all activities on the night shift; picking, building, loading, cleaning, stocking, safety, and completing shift in a timely manner.

Essential Functions:

  • Individual must engage in the typical duties of a supervisor, requiring planning, organizing, and integrating responsibilities.
  • Manage and supervise a team of employees, incoming/outgoing freight, and work-flow in shipping/receiving departments.
  • Work closely with customer service and production to process and maintain shipment schedules.
  • Engage in the typical responsibilities of a supervisor.
  • Plan, integrate, evaluate, organize, and delegate responsibility.
  • Work closely with customer service and production to process and maintain shipment schedule while ensuring product being shipped meets customer quality specifications.
  • Ensures proper procedures are in place and being followed for efficient shipping and receiving activities, employee safety, and state and federal guidelines.
  • Prepares finished stock for shipment by accurately identifying, pulling, packing, crating, loading, and securing product.
  • Maintains shipping and receiving materials by checking stock to determine inventory levels, anticipating needed materials, placing and expanding orders for materials, and verifying receipts of materials.

Experience and Skills:

  • Must possess a minimum of three yrs. experience in shipping environments (one year supervisory experience).
  • 4-5 years as a shift manager
  • 5-10 years in pick and ship operations
  • Strong interpersonal skills and decision-making abilities.
  • Has control over work areas.
  • Ensures work is done safely
  • Ensures company assets are not miss-used, or taken.
  • Strong work ethic
  • Time Management
  • Ability to select, coach, develop, engage and retain a team of employees.
  • On time to start work and completes shifts.
  • Organized and plans tasks well.
  • Ensure that all items are stocked and area is ready for customers to shop.
  • Ensure that warehouse is clean and ready to open on time.
  • Manages any and all issues on the floor in a timely manner.
  • Effective and professional communication/organization skills.

Educational Requirements:

  • BS in management preferred
  • Proficiency in Windows and Microsoft operating systems (Word, Excel).

Physical Requirements:

  • May be standing or setting for extend period of times.
  • Computer work for checking inventory levels and status of inbound product.
  • Inventory is correct and acute at all times.
  • May be required to speak on the phone.
  • Must be able to lift 75 lbs.
  • Communications with other employees throughout the day.
